For five years composer/musician/audio/performance artist Miya Mayaoka has been making music compositions, videos, and performance art pieces while investigating the sound, behavior and social organization of insects. In Bee Show, Masaoka will play the beesī vibrating wings processed and mixed by Masaoka with composer/mixer/programmer Scot Gresham-Landcaster, as well as projections of live and found video footage of bees. Prior to Bee Show professional beekeeper Marc Mass will speak about techniques of bee hive removal, and researchers from the Integrated Biology Department at UC Berkeley will discuss their deelopment of robotic flies.
