El World Brain Disorder: surveillance.control.pendejismo
(a war-time performance)

Friday & Saturday March 15-16, 8 PM
$5-$10 sliding scale admission

By popular demand, Los Cybrids: La Raza Techno-Crítica return with a fresh multi-media performance where Cantinflas meets Paul Virilio to confront the God-Machine of technology. El World Brain Disorder explores the often hilarious dysfunctional convergence of surveillance technologies, military industrial complexes, the national police states and fundamentalist extremism that is accelerating the hyper-globalization of catastrophe, inequality and freedom. Is resistance futile? Pues, join us as we delve into the mysteries of electromagnetic shamanisms of mythopoetic techno-santeria. Yes, that's right, mythopoetic techno-santeria! Performed by agents of the Information Bomba, come ready to be probed, you won't want to resist!

Los Cybrids: La Raza Techno-Crítica are Rene Garcia, John Leaños and Praba Pilar, three Bay Area artists exploring cultural and somatic mutations caused by the implosion of advanced information technology. Amid the tensions of the fast-paced mythologies of the Information Age, Los Cybrids have emerged to challenge notions that purport a friction-free market, a one-world community and global access at our fingertips; they employ performance, burla, and high-tech art to undermine the uncritical, passive acceptance of the overarching social, cultural and environmental consequences of Information Technologies.
