** PUSHING THE AURAL AND VISUAL DANCE PARTY PARADIGMS **
deep house / cosmic disco / balaeric vibez / lo-fi acid / Photography by J Astra Brinkmann
A mainstay in the bay area hardware house scene, Roche broadened his horizons last year with two 12"s, one for Jamal Moss' (Hieroglyphic Being) Chicago-based Mathematics label and one for Amanda Brown's 100% Silk from LA. His heady productions show his talent in melodically combining dreamy synthscapes with meticulously constructed rhythms. Playing with the classic tropes of Detroit, he embodies the forward-looking aesthetic common in the current American house scene. Look for another Mathematics release from Roche due this Spring.
ARIA ROSTAMI (Live)
"[Aria Rostami] caught our ear due to its compelling sound design, effervescent melodies, and subtly driving rhythms—evoking at times the delicate fantasy of Balam Acab's Wander / Wonder while remaining firmly planted in the realm of preciously austere, finely crafted soundsystem music. " -James Eaton (XLR8R)
ASH WILLIAMS (DJ)
Local DJ and producer with a penchant for balearic oddities and soulful deep house sounds. Having made his live hardware debut last summer, he continues to balance production with his passion for playing records.
