R K Faulhaber (Richard Karl Faulhaber) has been composing, producing, and performing works for over 20 years. In the mid-80′s to early 90′s he produced a number of rare cassettes containing his sonic compositions for, but not limited to, electronic music. His pedigree lists some well known synths as well as some obscure ones. He also is an avid sound designer and sonic pioneer of field and ‘off-field’ recordings.
Faulhaber has appeared and continues to appear in many incarnations and is often called in for his sonic expertise by others. His most notable presence is in irr. app. (ext.) alongside Matt Waldron and others. Later on he joined forces with Chandra Shukla of X A M B U C A originally as a collaborator and later as a full time other half of the project for live events. In June 2006 Faulhaber performed at the two legendary Nurse With Wound shows, both as a sonic contributor and orator of the event, which marked the first shows by the band in almost 20 years. His most notoriously acclaimed collaboration thus far was “The Sleeping Moustache” (The Helen Scarsdale Agency HMS 007) alongside Steven Stapleton, Matt Waldron, JimHaynes, and Siggtrygur Berg Sigmarsson. Today Faulhaber resides in the bay area with his wife Heather Clemens Faulhaber and their 3 children. http://erototoxdecodings.com/artists/rk-faulhaber/ HORA FLORA (Raub Roy) studied sound art and studio technique with Daniel Warner and Christoph Cox at Hampshire College, Amherst Mass. Raub is also largely self taught in microsound, field recording and other specialized aspects of his field. From 2001-2007, his instrument of choice was an Akai sampler. In 2007, a shift in focus led him towards prepared and extended acoustic instruments, as well as electro-acoustic methods of sound manipulation and diffusion.
Raub has performed in support of many excellent and respected artists from the noise, improvised music, and electronic music world: Lionel Marchetti, Jerome Noetinger, Fat Worm of Error, Angst Hase Pfeffer Nace, Chris Corsano, Vampire Belt, Paperrad, Cex, Stars as Eyes, Feathers, Bromp-Treb Sound System, Ralph White, Rubber-O-Cement, Nmprign (Bhob Rainey and Greg Kelley), Howard Steltzer, Bill Nace, Thurston Moore, MV&EE, Evolutionary Jass Band, Headboggle, Tony Dryer, Jacob Felix Heule, Dat Politics, and Nautical Almanac.
