FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN - We need your support!


For 24 years, The LAB has been supporting the development and presentation of new visual, performing, media, sonic, and literary art. Today, The LAB is at a crucial turning point as we strengthen our commitment of supporting experimental and emerging artists, while we deal with reduced funding and increased overhead. This has created a significant challenge for us as we seek to sustain our programs.

We are truly grateful for all of the support from our community of members and donors, as you have helped The LAB survive and thrive for so many years. We are asking our loyal community to help us continue with our innovative programs by making a contribution today. For contributions of $25 or more, you can become a LAB member and receive free event tickets, a LAB t-shirt, waived/discount fees to events, and more! Since its founding in 1984, The LAB has had a major impact on the careers of many artists, including Rene Yung, Rex Ray, Dawn Fryling, Lise Swenson, and John High. In order to continue our current level of programs, our goal is to raise $8,000 by June 30, 2008. Every contribution is crucial, no matter what the amount- we hope we can count on your support today.

Today, with dwindling funding available from grants, we must rely even more upon individual donors to survive and grow. Your support will help The LAB directly to:

  • Develop a larger number of inventive visual and performing art programs, focusing on emerging curators
  • Build on affordable workshops and critique groups for visual artists and film makers
  • Build a contingency fund to secure the future of The LAB
  • Continue and strengthen our residency program for artists
